This Saturday saw Oadby Town's largest attendance of the season so far with 512 people witnessing Oadby beat AFC Rushden & Diamonds 5 - 1 in an entertaining game that saw the deadlock broken at the end of the first half by a wonderful strike from ex-Leiceser City player Jon Stevenson who finished the game with two goals.  Further goals came from Ollie Brown-Hill, Nick Pollard and Elliott Wright. Rushden got their consolation goal with about 5 minutes to go through Alfie Taylor.

On the day, Oadby Town's players showed a true grit and wanted the victory more than the visitors. This now keeps Oadby in second place in the league with a game in hand on Northampton Sileby Rangers who visit us on 2nd February 2013 and this again should be a good and entertaining game as we drew 2 - 2 at their ground earlier in the season.

Other news that was greeted with great excitement on Saturday was that Stefan Oakes ex-Leicester City and Notts County has signed for Oadby Town. This is a great credit to the set up at Oadby that we can attract players of this calibre and will further strengthen our squad.
