A range of cut-price short breaks are being offered across Leicestershire.

The Stay Play Explore breaks will be based around themed experiences and overnight stays at top hotels.

They are priced at £109 per family or couple.

This is a saving of up to 46 per cent on standard prices.

Leicestershire tourist attractions taking part in the scheme include Twycross Zoo, Conkers, in Moira, Leicester's National Space Centre, Snibston Discovery Park, Coalville, Bosworth Battlefield, Leicester Marriott hotel and Barcelo Hinckley Island Hotel.

Martin Peters, chief executive of tourist agency Leicester Shire Promotions, which is overseeing the scheme, said: "These new breaks are based on a unique and proven model where people choose three from five activities or attractions, coupled with overnight stays at top local hotels.

"The breaks are themed to give visitors a real flavour of some of the highlights of Leicester and Leicestershire, and at just £109, represent excellent value of money."
