Greetham: Gerald and Barbara said thank you to Sally and Grahame Cluley and their team for the superb Christmas lunch in aid of Hope Cancer Charity. The atmosphere and company were "great".

Everyone's hard work was much appreciated and a total of £465 was raised.

Thanks also went out to Paul and Ruth Hinch who have had a Hope money box on their counter at the camp site for the past year and managed to raise £127.

Sapcote: As part of a Week of Christian Unity, to forge links between churches, village Methodists joined their friends from the Anglican Church at the evening service at All Saints Parish Church last Sunday.

This Sunday, the united evening service will be held at Sapcote Methodist Church, at 6pm.

Wigston: At 5pm on Tuesday, the mayor of Oadby and Wigston will attend a Holocaust Day memorial service at Peace Memorial Park, in Long Street.

At 7.30pm next Friday the mayor will attend the chairman of Leicestershire County Council's charity dinner at County Hall.
