Passenger dies as car hits a tree in Gartree Road, Oadby
A passenger has died following a car crash.
The incident happened in Gartree Road, Oadby, at 6.30pm on Saturday, and involved one vehicle, which hit a tree.
The passenger in a red Peugeot 406 estate was pronounced dead at the scene. They have not yet been named and the police were not able yesterday to give the deceased's sex or age.
The driver was treated at Leicester Royal Infirmary, but has since been discharged.

Police said a 52-year-old man had been arrested and was in police custody yesterday.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Castle said: "The Peugeot was travelling in the direction of Leicester Airport when it hit a tree.
"We would urge anyone with information to call us immediately so we can piece together exactly what happened."
