Paul Nixon takes on new role at Leicestershire CCC
Former wicket-keeper Paul Nixon has become an ambassador for Leicestershire.
Nixon, who scored 12,088 first-class runs for the club in two spells after making his debut in 1989, will join the commercial team to help increase the club's commercial revenue and provide support at selected events.
Nixon was an ever-present in the t20 team after making his debut when the competition started in 2003.
He helped the Foxes to win the trophy three times and is the club's leading scorer in the competition with 1,423 runs.
Nixon also claimed 49 catches and 20 stumpings during that time.
Nixon said: "I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to join the commercial team as club ambassador. I will do my utmost to take Leicestershire forward."
Chief executive Mike Siddall said "Paul will work in a part-time capacity to fit in with his other commitments and I am delighted to welcome him into this very important and innovative role for the club.
"I am really pleased that Paul is continuing his long association with the club."
