Match stats: Leicester City 1 v Blackpool 0
There was a late change forced on Leicester City after full-back Ritchie De Laet was injured in the warm-up.
Manager Nigel Pearson had, not surprisingly considering the Capital One Cup exit, initially reverted to the side that performed so well in defeat at Blackburn.

Leicester City's Ben Marshall takes the penalty and scores
There were eight changes to the side, but De Laet's injury saw Sean St Ledger promoted to the starting line-up.
2 mins: Baptiste's back-pass to keeper Gilks is short and Vardy is almost in but Gilks just clears in time. City start brightly.

4 mins: Vardy gets in behind the defence and his shot is saved by Gilks' outstretched foot. City piling forwards.
15 mins: Dyer and Marshall take a quick corner and Marshall races into the box and shoots low and to Gilks' left. He saves at full stretch.
17 mins: Blackpool finally show something as an attacking force as Crainey plays in Ince down the left and Schmeichel saves with his foot.
21 mins: A deep cross to the back post from Marshall finds Vardy and his shot is blocked by Ince. City are piling on the pressure and Blackpool are defending desperately.
24 mins : King is running the midfield and plays in Dyer, who lays it back for Konchesky whose deep cross is just too high for Nugent at the back post.
32 mins: Marshall free-kick from 25 yards out beats the wall and Gilks dives low to his left to push the ball away. City just can't find the breakthrough their approach play deserves.
36 mins: Taylor-Fletcher goes close with a right-footed strike from 30 yards, which is just too high.
42 mins: A brilliant save from Schmeichel to deny Ince after Blackpool carve open City's defence. Taylor-Fletcher delivers the killer pass and Ince is clean through on goal. It is the best chance of the half.
45 mins: Let off for City. Moore gives the ball away to Dicko who would have been in on goal but for Morgan's timely intervention.
45+1 mins: Ferguson's shot comes back off the post after he superbly pulls down a high ball from Taylor-Fletcher and strikes a first-time half-volley from the edge of the area.
HALF-TIME: City 0 Blackpool 0
47 mins: Shouts for a penalty as Vardy runs on to Nugent's flick on and appears to be bundled over by Crainey.
50 mins: More appeals for a penalty as Dyer goes down under an Eardley challenge.
53 mins: Penalty Vardy jinks into the box and goes down under Gomes' challenge. Penalty is given this time, although it looked less of a penalty than the challenge on Dyer. Gomes booked for his protest.
54 mins: GOAL Marshall steps up for the penalty and scores high into the net to Gilks' right. Keeper got a slight touch.
62 mins: Let off for City. Schmeichel's clearance is poor and goes straight to Matt Phillips who crosses to the back post for Ince but his finish is poor and Schmeichel saves.
63 mins: Schlupp comes on for St Ledger so Moore goes to right-back and Konchesky to centre-back. St Ledger was tiring after his injury absence and the pacey Phillips was up against him. A wise tactical decision from Pearson.
67 mins: Blackpool shout for a penalty after Dicko goes down inside the area after a tussle with Konchesky. It looks as though Holloway may explode.
71 mins: Dyer has a shot blocked by Baptiste, it comes out to Schlupp, who delivers a superb low cross and Vardy almost scores from close range. It comes out to Dyer who should score but his effort is somehow cleared off the line by Baptiste.
74 mins: Vardy and Nugent combine well again. Vardy's cross is cleared. Another great opportunity carved out by City.
80 mins: Substitute Jermain Beckford on and gets a good chance as he nips on to Vardy's flick but can't get his shot away.
86 mins: A great chance for Ince, but his shot flashes wide of the far post.
89 mins: Blackpool pile on the pressure and are City hanging on. Matt Phillips' shot bounces into the ground and over.
90 mins: City break and Nugent plays the ball in for three City players, but Beckford is ruled offside. Replays show it is a close call.
90 mins+1: Ince strike goes wide and then sub Kevin Phillips' dink lands safely in Schmeichel's hands. A nervy end.
90 mins+4: Baptiste header at the back post is inches wide. Schmeichel must have got a slight touch as corner is given. An excellent save.
full-TIME: City 1 Blackpool 0

“What would your back four be ???
LB Schlupp
CB Morgan
CB SSL
RB Moore
Moore and ssl pretty much naturally ended up like hat on Saturday so why not let them I agree not keen on knonch for a while no a lot of missd tackles looks flustered a lot of the time and really lacks a fair bit of pace and if Schlupp and dyer started to work together that's a lot of attacking pace and mentallity things look good I think ;-)”

“Liam Moore looks good comfortable wherever he plays, looks better every game, some are saying why was Jeffrey Schlupp at left back, that actually says alot the players are willing to play anywhere just to get on the pitch especially after the burton game there are still players who need to put that right.”

“Good points both of you and i think that Sclupp can push Konchesky a bit if he can perform at left back as he did when he came on on a consistent basis, but I want to know when Alan Pearson became our manager!”

“I agree. I think Moore at RB looked more solid. De Laet is better cover on the bench.
We need a LB, Konchesky is looking very shakey!”
