People on bikes stealing mobile phones from victims in Bede Park, Leicester
Police are warning people to be vigilant after an increase in mobile phone thefts in Bede Park, Leicester.
The majority of thefts have involved a person on a bicycle riding by the victim and snatching the phone.

Anyone with any information about the thefts is urged to contact police on 101
Officers said that in the past 28 days, 10 mobile phones and tablets have been stolen in the area, which is near De Montfort University and Western Boulevard.
Sgt Will Cheshire said “Although only a few offences, it is a concern so I would like to raise awareness, ask people not to carry their phones around on show, be aware of who is around them and consider registering your expensive items such as phones, laptops, ipads, etc on the free property register at www.immobilise.co.uk.

“Can't stand seeing folk (all sorts!) riding cycles without lights on when it's dark or poor lighting.
Police should approach and take bike from anyone without lights and give them a ticket that on production at an agreed station and payment (say £35) can collect bike WITH LIGHTS!”
