Photos to ephemera, talks to transcripts: historical society has the lot
I was interested to hear from Melvyn Forman, chairman and archivist of Husbands Bosworth Historical Society, who tells me the group was formed in 1974.
"The group holds meetings at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of each month throughout the winter season, in the Church Hall, Honeypot Lane, Husbands Bosworth," said Mr Forman.
"Meetings focus primarily on matters of local interest.
"For this coming season, we will be welcoming Mary Matts, of Old Union Canals Society, who will be telling us the story of Foxton Locks and Inclined Plane. Harborough Movie Makers will be returning with a selection of their acclaimed local heritage films.

"The society also holds a vast archive of old photographs, documents, ephemera and artefacts relating to Husbands Bosworth and village life.
"The group publishes a periodical journal, Bygone Bosworth, which features articles of historical interest and social life in the village.
"Recently, we have published the full series of transcripts of the Husbands Bosworth censuses, which have proved to be very helpful to family history researchers."
A resume of articles in the Bygone Bosworth series, contact details and other information relating to Husbands Bosworth can be found on the village website at:
