A jobs fair offering free information and advice to anyone looking for work or considering a change of career is being held next week.

The adult guidance service, Next Step, is staging the free event at the Connexions Centre, Charles Street, Leicester, from 10.30am to 3pm, on Wednesday, February 8.

Employers and adult education staff will be on hand, along with careers and employment advisers.

People can get help with writing the perfect CV, preparing for interviews, having practice with mock interviews and careers advice.

Graham Dawson, Next Step project manager, said: "The new year is a time when people often want a fresh start.

"There are jobs available in the city and county and this event is an ideal opportunity to meet employers face to face.

"This is the first of several events we are putting on, but we also offer general careers advice and information for adults all year round."
