He hardly had a thing to do all afternoon as Forest had just two efforts on targets. Unfortunately, those two efforts were both the goals

2. Ritchie De Laet
Defensively sound and got forward well, and delivered some dangerous crosses. His pace caused the Forest back-line plenty of problems.
7
5. Wes Morgan
Produced another excellent display against his former club. Living up to Nigel Pearson's billing as the best defender in the Championship.
7
6. Zak Whitbread
Can feel justifiably aggrieved with the penalty award given against him in the second half. Had defended well up to that point.
6
18. Jeff Schlupp
Is still learning aspects of the defensive side of playing full-back but gave City so much going forward down the left flank.
7
24. Anthony Knockaert
Not all of his tricks and passes came off but, at the crucial times, he did pick holes in the Forest defence and delivered a superb pass for Nugent's goal.
7
4. Danny Drinkwater
Gave an excellent display as City's anchor man. Broke up Forest attacks and passed the ball with composure and assurance.
6
10. Andy King
Did not have the best of games but, on days when perhaps your touch is missing, you have to dig in. King certainly gave his all in the game.
7
11. Lloyd Dyer
Was City's most dangerous player in the opening stages as he ran at the Forest defence and his low cross led to the opening goal.
7
14. Martyn Waghorn
Continued his recent good form with another excellent display, which deserved a goal. Was so unlucky when Ward cleared his shot off the line.
7
35. David Nugent
Scored a fantastic goal with an audacious flick. It was a goal that would have graced the Premier League. City will hope his shoulder injury is not serious.

“Schlupp is too talented to be reserve left back for much longer. If he'd been picked to partner Nugent on Sat. I think we'd have won. Good as Waggie's header was, he's to slow to shoot, takes too long to get set. He'll get sharper as he learns but he's not scoring and that's why. One more game when our finishing cost us points.”

“Fair with the exception of Jeff Sclupp, who deserved a seven for his improvement throughout the game.”
