Leicester City players Robbie Neilson and Jack Hobbs are showing their support for bringing the World Cup to the Walkers Stadium.

The two defenders modelled special Back the Bid City shirts yesterday ahead of tomorrow's big game against West Brom.

They urged football fans to get behind Leicester's bid to be a host city during the 2018 finals.

Supporters can now back the bid by mobile phone, as well as online, by texting LEICESTER to 62018.

While the number of votes alone will not secure success for the city, organisers say popular support will help in the decision-making process by the FA's England 2018 team.

Councillor Ross Willmott, leader of the city council, said: "We need to show the England 2018 team that the people of Leicestershire are ready to welcome the FIFA World Cup to our city and county."

Texts will be charged at standard network rates.

Votes must be registered within the next few weeks, as the cities that will form part of England's official World Cup bid will be named in mid December.

The city's bid will be handed in at Wembley on November 26.
