Plumber with Legionnaires’ bug still recovering in hospital
A plumber is still recovering in hospital with Legionnaires’ disease after working on a disused building at a Leicester college.
Yesterday the Mercury reported it was thought the man had been infected with the potentially fatal bug while working at New College in New Parks, Leicester.

A spokeswoman for Leicester City Council, who is leading the investigation into the case, said the infected man was still in hospital.
She said he is in a “comfortable condition,” and that a colleague, who is undergoing tests for the disease, is still waiting for hospital results which are expected on Monday.

The Mercury reported yesterday that council bosses were confident the disease was isolated to a disused building which staff and students have not had access to for about seven years.
