Police are becoming increasingly concerned for two women who have gone missing.

Jane Linzey, 72, of Walcote, near Lutterworth, was reported missing by her carer on Tuesday, September 18.

Police believe the last confirmed sighting of Mrs Linzey was in July, when she was dropped off by a taxi at the recycling area at Morrisons, Lutterworth.

However, officers now believe she may have travelled by bus from Lutterworth to Leicester a day later.

Sergeant Gavin Drummond, of Leicestershire Police's missing from home team, said: "We have been carrying out extensive inquiries in the area and speaking to people who may have seen her since July.

"Unfortunately, we haven't received any information which could lead us to identify her whereabouts.

"We now believe Mrs Linzey may have got on the number 84 Arriva bus from Lutterworth to Leicester at about 11.55am on Thursday, July 19.

"If you were also a passenger on this bus or you remember seeing her, please contact us.

"We know Mrs Linzey's bank accounts have not been accessed since July and she has not collected her medication from her doctor.

"As time goes by, we are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare and would urge anyone who knows where she is or recognises her description to contact us."

Mrs Linzey is white, 5ft 7ins and slim. She usually wears a long-sleeved polo top and jeans. She also wears glasses but has left these at home.

She is known to sometimes use the forenames Paulette and Elizabeth and the surnames Whatley and Jeppe.

Police yesterday issued a photograph of another woman who has gone missing.

Officers are concerned for the welfare of 45-year-old Michelle Grimbley, who was reported missing from her home in Beaumanor Road, off Abbey Lane, Leicester last month.

Her relatives last saw her on Friday, October 19, and she was reported missing two days later. A possible sighting in the Beaumont Leys area was reported to police on Monday, November 5.

Pc Charles Edwards, from city police's missing from home team, said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for Michelle's welfare as she has no phone with her, no keys to her home address and no immediate access to money.

"I would like anyone with information about her to call us."

Ms Grimbley is white, about 5ft 4ins, of medium build and has shaved hair.

Contact the Leicestershire police missing from home team with information about either woman by calling 101.

Alternatively, call the Missing Peoples Charity on 116000.
