The reason cyclists ride on pavements and in the wrong direction up one-way streets, ignore traffic lights and cycle without lights after dark is that they know they can get away with it.

In my younger days, when the police were keener on enforcing the law, any of these offences could result in an appearance before the magistrates and a fine. Now there is no deterrent.

As for dark clothing, if a cycle is equipped with lights front and rear, as required by law, it should be easily visible, irrespective of the colour of the rider's attire.

After all, dark-coloured cars are driven around at night!

David Wimperis, (a cycling motorist), Braunstone.

Once again we have another Saturday afternoon with a Leicester City game cancelled.

The Birmingham home fixture has succumbed yet again to Sky.

Do Leicester City listen to their fans? I don't think so.

All that City can see is the profit they are making out of the dedicated fans, whether they are season tickets holders or the people who pay week in and week out.

City haven't given the average fan a thought. We buy our tickets on the understanding that most games will be played on a Saturday.

Once again we are governed by TV. I for one won't be renewing my season ticket and if anybody from City reads this, please reply.

Where would you be without the fans? Think again.

Ian Vincent, Leicester.

“Re cycles - New Walk and Victoria Park are full of cyclists. As for red lights, have seen cars jumping them on a regular basis.
It appears we have an anarchic society now, litter cast aside, cars parked on pavements and yellow lines, especially in the Evington Rd area.Zebra crossings are now a lottery.Everybody for themselves,a perfect selfish consumer approach.
I feel we are all in a lab. and are taking part in an gigantic experiment set up by the financial sector to see how much profit they can milk us for without paying for any regulation which would control the outcome of the experiment”

“Ian- spot on about football. Season ticket are bought before dates are given, in the old days they would be Saturdays and Mid-week games. These days they are any day of the week. Depending on you work patten season ticket holders could miss many matches so I guess that not buying a season ticket and purchase match by match is the answer .I'm afraid the 'working mans ' game is now money related and clubs really don't care after all TV money is probably more than the missing fans would have paid”
