Police plea after phones stolen in two robberies in Leicestershire

Police are appealing for witnesses to two robberies where phones were stolen from teenagers.

On Thursday, February 14, in Park Drive, Leicester Forest East, at about 9.30pm, a 14-year-old boy was approached by four men, who emerged from Beeches Park.

He was approached from behind by one of the group and had his phone taken.

The group made off down an alleyway into Garden Close.

On Saturday, February 16, between 4.50pm and 5.10pm, a 15-year-old boy was approached by a group of men in Withers Way, Thorpe Astley.

The group grabbed the victim before threatening him and demanding his mobile phone.

One suspect is described as white, aged about 18, about 5ft 7in tall and wearing grey jogging bottoms with an orange coat.

Another is described as white, about 18, and was wearing a dark hooded top and had a pale complexion.

Detective Constable Jessica Rippington said: "We are looking into the possibility that these incidents are linked.

"Any information could help with my enquiries."
