Police raid results in six drug arrests
Six men were arrested and a quantity of drugs recovered when police raided a flat which residents said was at the centre of dealing and anti-social behaviour.
Officers from Beaumont Leys police station raided a ground floor flat in Topcliffe Walk, Stocking Farm, Leicester, last Friday.
Officers said yesterday that six men, aged 18 to 23, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs.
A quantity of drugs and drugs paraphernalia were taken from the flat.

Pc Ian Button, of the Beaumont Leys safer neighbourhood team, said: "We have reacted to complaints by local residents about the anti-social behaviour and drug dealing which has centred around an address in Topcliffe Walk.
"We have taken swift and positive action.
"As a result of this action, we have arrested six people who we believe have caused misery for the local community.
"We are now making sure we work closely with our partner agencies to seek further action against the occupiers of the property."
Five of the men have been released on police bail while officers continue their inquiries.
A 19-year-old man has also been given a police caution for being in possession of a class B drug.

“Leicester is quite the drug den these days! I hope the police can help as well as the local people with any information.”

“Democrat, that weak excuse we trot out is called the Contempt of Court Act. The decision to remove the comment facility on that most recent story was difficult for us. But wise, I think.
What's your real name, by the way?
I'm interested in why most of you posters cling to the anonymity thing.

“Ciaran
An unprofessional response from you although you orginal comment was fair
When the LM stop pullling comments (or not allowing comments) on issues that have an enthic angle you might have a point. As it is, when the Thurnby Lodge decsion was made no comments were allowed - why so? I guess the 'pending court case' excuse will be trotted out but as we all know it is nothing but a weak excuse.”

A victim provides as full a description as they can to the police and that is what we print.
Sometimes, because of hoods, scarves and the like, they can't be sure.
If they're not sure, what should we print?
You're clinging to this notion that we omit references to black and Asian people in our witness appeals. Why?
Citing one example - the Harborough case - proves nothing.
Don't come on here and tell me I don't do my job in a fair and reasonable manner.
Why not try putting your real name on these posts. I do.

“There is no conspiracy, it is a simple fact. I appreciate your name might not be on this report Claran, but there is no mention of ethnicity in this report ? http://tinyurl.com/agwwcuf
I will say my point again, the LM does not state ethnicity in all criminal appeals, how can we identify them from a description "The youth, who was wearing a pink T-shirt and grey jogging bottoms, walked away toward an alleyway which leads to Nithsdale Crescent."
It must be distressing for the victim to realise that people don't report crime appeals in a fair and reasonable manor”

“djh_lm1 You don't get it do you? Ethnicity and other descriptive features are included in witness appeals. I wish you'd drop this conspiracy stuff. (Ciaran the crime reporter)”

“No description of the ethnicity of the criminals, interesting how the word "white" is used in other crime stories?”
