Poppy appeal boxes stolen
A man has pleaded guilty to the theft of Royal British Legion poppy collection boxes and other items.
Gareth Smith (28), of Waterside Close, Loughborough, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court yesterday after being charged on Wednesday.
He pleaded guilty to five counts of theft.
The collection tins were stolen in Loughborough, Ashby and Shepshed between November 6 and 12.

The court heard Smith was due to be sentenced for similar offences on December 3.
Magistrates remanded him into custody until then.
