The emotional story of French singer Edith Piaf proved a real tear-jerker for pop star Eliza Doolittle.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter visited Curve to see her mother, Frances Ruffelle, in the lead role.

Tony award-winning actress Frances plays Piaf in Paul Kerryson's production of Pam Gems's musical drama, which charts the life and career of the French singer.

The musical drama opened last night, but Eliza caught her mum during a preview performance. After the show, she tweeted: "So proud of my Mama! Had tears streaming down my face!"
