Praise for players and staff after Leicester City's Nigel Pearson wins Manager of Month award
Nigel Pearson has praised his Leicester City players and backroom staff after picking up the Championship Manager of the Month award for January.
The City boss beat Burnley's Sean Dyche and Brighton's Gus Poyet to the division's first monthly accolade of 2013, after guiding City to four wins in four Championship games since the turn of the year.
Pearson's side had a perfect record in January, a month which saw them hit 13 goals in victories over Huddersfield Town, Bristol City, Middlesbrough and Wolves, while firmly establishing themselves in the race for automatic promotion.
"It was a terrific effort from the entire group over the course of the month," Pearson said.

"The players and all the support staff have an outstanding work ethic and have applied themselves superbly all season. When you see that reflected in results, it is extremely rewarding for everyone.

City return to Championship action at the King Power Stadium against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night after a weekend off as scheduled opponents Blackburn are in FA Cup action at Arsenal.

“moan moan moan moan thats all i hear! take a look where we are in the league and be greatfull we are not supporting forest. we are having a good season and look good to go up, everyone is slatting pearsons team selection but we have a small squad and we will need every player. everyone was saying give futas a chance so pearson plays him and you slate his performance the same goes for waghorn and vardey these players add more than just goals vardey is used for his workrate so nugent can have a rest, futacs is a good target man n waggy well ive never rated him myself but we have to get behind the lads n please please please stop f,ing moaning”

As for advise for NP for Tuesday. First and foremost get the prayer mat out and pray big time that Chris Wood is fit because you won't win without him. Other things you might consider are loaning out or selling all or any of Futacs Waghorn and Vardy. Oh and leave Muppets out like Gallagher and Wellens and out of form players like King. I could go on all night but I'm afraid Mr Pearson will pick all the yes boys like normal and good luck to him if he keeps doing so as he has every chance of being a free agent this time next year as its selection suicide. Oh and change the pin please you use to pick Whoes on the bench.”
