Pre-school's record always exemplary
I am writing with regard to your article "Girl, 3, injured at pre-school" (Mercury, December 19).
While I have every sympathy with the girl and the family concerned, I would like to offer my wholehearted support and admiration of Ratby pre-school. As a registered childminder, foster carer and grandparent, the school has been an essential resource for myself and a large number of families in Ratby for 25 years.
The staff have always been very dedicated and willing to "go the extra mile" for the children who attend.
This is the only reported incident of its sort that has occurred in all these years and the school's record has always been nothing but exemplary.

“As grandfather of the 3yr old injured at pre school I read in amazement the letter written by Mrs Jan White by her own admission informs us of her vast experience as foster parent,carer and grandparent but endorsing the level of care offered to our young children at Ratby pre school.I feel that my grandchild the victim of the attack and the other child concerned were both indeed victims of neglect within an environment where our children should receive the level of protection they are accustomed to at home by professional staff at the Ratby pre school.
I believe that change and improvement are always a positive thing and the need to highlight incidents such as these can only bring awareness of important issues that need to be checked for all of the parents leaving their children in that environment where keeping them safe should be priority.
I am amazed to say the least that Mrs White is in a position to publish details of the pre school records of the last 25 years as I would assume that it would be reported by the pre school themselves or the local authorities.Perhaps Mrs White is authorized spokesperson for the pre school.

“Many childminders overcharge parents and make them pay for there service when your child is at school.
I believe this only says more about the people involved with the preschool, this is a minority in favour of the preschool you only have to look at the international media to see this.”

I believe this only says more about the services at the preschool, this is a minority in favour of the preschool you only have to look at the international media to see this, which make me think are you all connected in some way.”
