A pub is set to be converted into a convenience store providing up to 25 jobs.

More than 1,100 residents have opposed the scheme to close the New Galaxy in Boyslade Road, Burbage.

Neighbours at the pub have said they do not need another store on the estate.

However, Hinckley and Bosworth Council planning officers are recommending the Punch Taverns and the Midland Co-op should go ahead.

It will involve converting the building and adding a single-storey extension. The planning committee will make a decision on Tuesday.
