Pupils sample life in medieval times
Children grimaced at gruel as part of a medieval experience.
Living history specialists gave an insight into life 800 years ago at Burbage Church of England Infants School.
Visitors included falconer Dave Luther, Kathy Sedar, who showed how to illuminate letters, bow and arrow maker Mick Manns and spinner Julie Hamson.
The children were able to try on medieval clothes, make potage and rough bread and take brass rubbings.
The week ended with a pageant, with the reception children dressed as Robin Hood's merry band and a service.
