Paul Stone, head teacher at Kibworth Primary School, said: "The skills the children have developed are the kind that will help improve their attainment in a number of subjects, and hopefully they will take that with them to high school."
Twenty-eight pupils took part in the DVD, which was written and presented by the children themselves.
Mr Stone said: "This type of project doesn't come around very often and it's really boosted their confidence and their communication skills. It has been a very valuable learning experience and I'd like to thank David Wilson Homes for inviting the school to take part."
The company will use the DVD to show children what they can do in their spare time while their parents are discussing moving house.
Philip Lacey, sales director at David Wilson East Midlands. said: "It's great that we can get involved with youngsters in these sorts of projects which help to expand the school children's curriculum."
