Recyclers get carried away at cinema
Film fans helped improve the environment one recyclable bag at a time.
Volunteers from Morsbags – a global initiative which makes and gives away reusable bags from donated fabric – hosted an event at the Phoenix on Sunday.
Sewing machines were set up, material was provided and experts were on hand so anyone could make a bag.
Organiser Rosie Eley said: "It was brilliant. We had lots of interest, with half a dozen people making their own, and we gave out about 60 bags.

"It was nice because we were able to give out bags as people were going in or coming out of films.
"One lady asked if we wanted to go along to a scarecrow festival in Billesdon and do bags there. We are planning to hold four or five events like this at Phoenix over the year."
