Red Nose Day is upon us, with the great Leicestershire public once again pulling out all the stops to do something funny for money.

Leicester Motown tribute group The Dreamettes performed a gig as part of a gigathon at the Leicester Mercury offices.

Meanwhile, The Bridge housing advice and support charity used all their strength to complete a sponsored bed push in Loughborough for Red Nose Day.

Staff and patients at Leicester Royal Infirmary took part in a Great British Bake-Off for Comic Relief which was judged by Holly Bell - runner-up in the 2011 Great British Bake-Off TV show. Our photographer Beth Walsh was there to see the results.

Leicester beauty queen Nima Patel, joined youngsters at Kiddycare Angels Nursery, at Catherine Infant School, in Leicester, for their Comic Relief fundraising activities.
