Renshaw named as Titley’s temporary replacement at Loughborough ITC
BRITISH Swimming have moved to name a temporary replacement for departing Loughborough ITC head coach Ben Titley with Kevin Renshaw set to take over the role.
Titley announced last month that he would be leaving his post as head coach of Loughborough ITC for a similar role at the National Swim Centre Ontario in Canada.
In Loughborough Titley specifically coached double world champion Liam Tancock and former European champions Fran Halsall and Lizzie Simmonds among others.
However family reasons were also behind his move with Renshaw, who coached David Davies to Olympic 10km open water silver at Beijing 2008, now being appointed as acting head coach.

Renshaw was also the man behind Jo Jackson’s double silver and bronze at the 2009 World Championships and Daniel Fogg’s fifth-place finish in the 10km open water event at London 2012.
How long Renshaw will be in the role remains to be seen with British Swimming currently in the middle of a review of their performance at the London 2012 Olympics.
They failed to hit their medal target of five to seven – winning just three – however Renshaw has been given backing by British Swimming national performance director Michael Scott.
“Kevin has a strong track record based on his great work ethic and unrivalled passion for the job,” said Scott.
“I look forward to working with him in his new role as he continues to develop the ITC in Loughborough.”
