Report fire-risk rubbish on streets
Residents are being asked report rubbish in their neighbourhoods to help put a stop to opportunistic arsonists during the bonfire night period.
Charnwood Borough Council has pledged to make clearing fly-tipping its priority this month.
Councillor Jane Hunt, cabinet member for regulatory Services, said: "Fly-tipping is not only an environmental offence, but it can create a fire risk in our communities."
Mick Grewcock, Charnwood district manager for the fire service, said: "I would urge the community to be vigilant and report incidents of waste being dumped that could be a potential target for fire."
