Review: Conor Maynard at the O2 Academy, Leicester
As the lights began to flash and the music of Animal started, the screams from Conor Maynard's teenage fans were deafening, writes Esme Troughton.
As Conor himself entered the stage, even more ear-splitting screams filled the arena.

Conor Maynard
His captivating performance included covers of Starships, by Nicki Minaj and Diamonds, by Rihanna, and he brought recently released songs into his setlist as well as succeeding in putting a more relaxed, slow spin on well-known, well-loved, catchy pop tunes.
Conor even got a friend to take photos of him with the front rows of the audience from the stage. The crowd was encouraged to sing along to every one of his songs as he continued a performance that didn't have a single note out of tune.

As well as his adoring teenage fans, a few less than enthusiastic parents were dotted, maintaining a poker face as their companions danced and sang their hearts out.
Before he left the stage, Conor asked his supporters to all take a picture of him as he sang another of his songs Pictures. "Tweet me your picture and whoever takes the best picture gets a follow back, is that a deal?" he told the crowd.
When he left the stage, his fans held their ground and chanted his name, waiting for him to return before he exploded back into the arena to perform Can't Say No.
