An exhibition depicting the turbulent life of Richard III was due to open at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre today.

The display, comprising Manga drawings usually seen in Japanese comics, has been created by graphic novel artist John Aggs.

"The illustrations are very striking and it is an original look at one of the most famous battles in English history, as well as attempting to debunk some of the myths surrounding Richard III," said Nick Rushton, leader of Leicestershire County Council, which has developed the exhibition with the University of Leicester.

Richard III: The Making of the Myth runs until December and is open daily from 10am to 4pm.
