Researchers from the University of Leicester revealed today that the skeleton found beneath a Leicester car park was that of Richard III.

Our reporters - along with hundreds from around the world - were there when the news was revealed - these video clips show the moment the DNA results were announced.

    “BRILLIANT - and so fitting that the technique of DNA fingerprinting was invented at Leicester.

    This invention/discovery must surely be the single most important invention/discovery to come out of the University. Hardly a day goes by when it isn't mentioned on radio or TV. It has impacted on so many peoples lives. The University really should make more out of it.
