Rivals go public for weigh-in
Promoter Scott Lansdowne has announced there will be a public weigh-in before this weekend's heavyweight grudge fight in Leicester.
Ring rivals Scott King and Lenny Buttling will come face-to-face in Leicester Town Hall Square, on Friday, at 1pm before meeting at Liquid Envy nightclub the following night.
Lansdowne says the title clash between Blaby basher King and Buttling, from Loughborough, has got fight fans talking.
King is making his first defence of the EBF Midlands Area heavyweight championship and it promises to be explosive while it lasts.
King and Buttling exchanged words at a photo shoot to promote the fight and footage of their feuding has had more than 1,100 views on YouTube.
"This is a big fight and I'm giving it the big fight treatment," said Lansdowne.
"It's a genuine grudge match and a local derby between two big lads who can punch. That's why I've decided there should be a public weigh in
"I'm sure this will be my best-ever show."
Barinder Singh, a former contender for world kick-boxing honours, makes his boxing debut on the bill and Robbie Everitt, Shaun Warner, Joseph Hind and Kevin Flannigan are also matched.
