Road re-opens after two-car crash in Saffron Lane, Leicester
A road has re-opened after a two-car crash in Leicester this morning.
A driver had to be cut free from the wreckage of his car after the crash on Saffron Lane, Leicester.
Firefighters using specialist cutting equipment took 36 minutes to free the man who was trapped after the two-car incident near the junction of Fayrhurst Road and Saffron Lane in Aylestone.
Two fire crews from Central station were called out to the accident at 6.42am.

The driver, who has not been named, was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary after being released at 7.33am.
The driver of the other vehicle, who did not have to be cut free, was also taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The road was closed in both directions for an hour.
Traffic was diverted along Wigston Lane, Aylestone Drive and Burgess Road.
