Thieves have stolen two sets of choir robes from Market Harborough's centuries-old St Dionysius Parish Church.

The red cassocks and white surplices were stolen from the town centre building at about 3pm last Wednesday.

A spokesman for the church declined to comment.

Police are appealing for witnesses and said it was likely someone may have seen those responsible carrying the red and white robes out of the church.
