Ruff at the double as City lift cup
Leicester City Ladies lifted the County Under-15 Cup after beating Coalville Town Ravenettes 4-1 in the final at Holmes Park.
All the goals came in the first half, with City going 4-0 up through Niamh Ruff (2), Connie Ingall and Simran Singh, before Coaville pulled one back.
City took the lead on 11 minutes when a ball down the right from Lauren Steadman allowed Ruff to cut inside and shoot past the keeper.
Coalville were competing well in midfield but, on 17 minutes, Ingall latched on to a cross to put City further ahead.
Leicester were now starting to take control, playing some attractive football, and Singh made it 3-0 on 32 minutes.
It wasn't long before Ruff netted her second. However, Coalville got on the scoresheet just before half-time.
City had an early second half chance which was saved before the game turned into a midfield battle with both sides competing for every ball.
A Coalville shot was put behind for a corner while, at the other end, Ingall shot just wide as both sides failed to find the back of the net in the second period.
It meant City were able to complete their 100th consecutive win in all Leicestershire competitions.
City's player of the match was Jessica Webb.
