St Ledger said that even though it was early in the season it would be a psychological boost.
"This league is all about winning games and we are eighth now," said the 27-year-old Republic of Ireland international.
"If we win on Saturday, we could go second. If you don't want to do that then you shouldn't be in football. It would be a major morale boost if we can do that.
"Boro had a great win against Blackburn. It is always tough at the Riverside but I think we can go there and get the points. If we start well, and things don't go well for them in the first half, the fans can get on their backs pretty quickly.
"If we can keep it tight and, with the midfielders and strikers we have got, we are fully confident of scoring goals."

“yes it is a hard unpredictable league this year. A true extension of the premiership. This is why teams going up now are completing so well. There must be at least 10 teams in this league who think promotion is a target. Any team can beat any team on the day. I think this year will go right to the wire and be won on the last day.”

“Look at the League table and results, all the results have been unpredictable because this league is the most competative in the world, i mean who would have thought that Brum would have lost 5-0 to barnsley and Huddersfield beating Blackpool at their place, We will go to Boro on saturday and be looking for the first away win, just got a sneaky feeling we are going to win this one.”

“This will be a true test for LCFC !
Take 3 points and you will be on a roll ! Lose and it will be like a monkey on your backs !
It will be in the mind set of both players and supporters if you lose ...
NP will no doubt settle for a negative attitude towards the game and will be happy for a point !
If you play like you did on Sunday you should come away with all3 points ..”

“A clean sheet away from home would be a start.”

“Middlesborough have been a little unpredictable so far this season. Some games they have played well, others not so good. I am sure the team is doing their homework. Could be an open game as Mowbury likes to pass the ball around too. Could be a very good game,”

“Attack is the best form of defence, unless you have so much quality to be able to 'park the bus' successfully a la Chelsea in europe.”

“homesickalien...spot on mate!
ou don't see the likes of Man U, Chelsea and Man City thinkg, oh we're away to Norwich or Southampton, lets play a counter attacking game. They play their normal game.
There have been two things wrong with our away performances this season. One has been going to sleep at se pieces. This cost us both goals against wolves and i believe one at blackburn. Te other thing is to be more clinical. I read somewhere we have created 25 chances in 3 away games yet only scored 3 goals. We need to up that ratio and if we did, imagine where we would be!!
Up the Foxes!!”

“I agree with both of you.
I watched Palace at Charlton the other night, and Palace ruled the entire game and won it. Why can't we do the same????”

“Go second?? "Other results going our way" means nobody above us wins (except perhaps the top team). Seems unlikely.
Nothing wrong with breakaway goals homesickalien. They all count! Our third goal agaist Hull was a stunning example of a breakaway goal. We should choose whatever tactics are required to give us the best chance of a win against the opposition of the day.
I've seen plenty of teams at the HP come to defend and frustrate, in the hope we will press forward even harder and they can prehaps get a breakaway goal. Nind you, it is usually the weaker teams that do that - their mananger knows the score and decides on that strategy against us.
We always seem to do best against open attacking footballing sides. So I hope we get it right at Middlesborough, whatever it takes.”

“yes this is very true. It seems to be a mentality thing that the homeside is more attacking. Sod that. Lets take the game to them!”
