Find Searchers at charity concert
People who want to see 60s chart-toppers The Searchers have just a day left to pick up tickets.
The band – famous for hits such as Sweets For My Sweet, Sugar and Spice and Don't Throw Your Love Away – are coming to the county to mark the end of a three-year fund-raising campaign in memory of a 19-year-old who died of cancer.
Paul Stevenson, from Oadby, lost his battle with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, in November 2004.
The Searchers will take to the stage at Scraptoft Valley Social Club tomorrow to raise money for a fund set up by his mum, Sue, in his memory.
Since March 2006, when Paul would have celebrated his 21st birthday, Sue has collected more than £155,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Tickets cost £15, with all proceeds going to the fund. For more information, contact Emily Betts on 0116 271 3618 or e-mail:
