Sidecars: EMRA title for James Sirrell
James Sirrell, with Steve Wareham as passenger, is the 2012 EMRA sidecar champion.
Sirrell, from Broughton Astley, and Enderby's Wareham, built up a substantial lead in the first five rounds and could not be caught going into the final two races at Mallory Park.
As a result, Sirrell decided not to take part, but Wareham teamed up with last season's champion Wayne Lockey – and took a race win.
Sirrell and Wareham started the year with a third place behind world champion Tim Reeves and passenger Andy King. They were second in their next race but, from then on, headed the championship with five wins from the next six races to finish 21 points clear of Derby's Brian Ilaria and his passenger, Coventry's Nick Roberts.
