Leicester City captain Wes Morgan believes young central defender Michael Keane is destined for the very top.

Keane has been immensely impressive alongside Morgan at the heart of City's defence since his arrival on loan from Manchester United.

Not only that, he has been chipping in with the odd goal here and there, including the crucial last-gasp equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Leeds on Tuesday night.

Although it is the 20-year-old's first loan spell, and first experience of first-team football, he has looked a class-act.

Morgan says Keane is destined to be a top Premier League player.

"I have been so impressed with him," said Morgan. "To come here from Manchester United reserves, where he played mainly with lads his own age, to step into the Championship where you play week in and week out, and it is hustle and bustle, where there is no respite and lots of experienced players, he has done remarkably well.

"That is testament to the guy. He is definitely one for the future.

"He has had a lot to learn in a short space of time and, if you can play at this level, I am sure you can play at any level. He has a lot of attributes to play at the highest level.

"I look forward to seeing him in the future. I have no doubt he will play for United's first team. I play with him and see him in training every day.

"He will definitely be a star of the future, if that is at Manchester United or another big club, who knows. But he definitely will be one of the players people will talk about in the future."

    “Alan
I for one are pleased that Dobbo has gone missing- Whilst Plies trys hard to be controversial I prefer him to Dob.I think he has a valid point about the way football is going but definitely do not agree with his attitude to our owners.

it strikes me that the serial posters on here like FF1/Dob/ Norman ( ?) have something in common , they rarely go to a game.
Not been on the site recently as fed up with the idiotic posts , particularly about NP- yes a recent bad run but we are still in a good position.
A month ago NP could do no wrong - now just look at the posts- If we win the next 2-3 we are back to him being our saviour.

The Charlton match was dissapointing for me - travelled 2000 miles to get to the game.
    I will be at Cardiff.

I do think that our subs bench looks average for a club with premier ambitions.”

Also haven't heard from Dorset or Foxy Rod in a long time either.”

“lolojones if this "Nigel Pearson knows how to get the best out of central defenders" is his best atribute then we should all pack up and call it a night now!”

“I wonder if LULU kisses a picture of Pearson every night before he goes to sleep. Other than that the mind boggles.

wins are a must now. No more scrappy draws.”

“lolo, most of us support NP, not the BNP. One thing you can be sure of, Wayne Brown will never play for Charlton.”

“Quote LOlo "Also, i am from what would be described as an "ethnic minority" yet i am proud of my stance that my club should be self sufficient and having foreign owners in charge is detrimental to this as in city's case they have borrowed millions against the club - debt has risen £40m in one year."

There isnt many clubs that are self sufficient it just doesn't happen and remain competitive.

You are in mass denial if you honestly believe it is the foreign owners who have caused the vast wages etc. That charge can be laid at two doors, Sky/Premier League and the player drain in the late 80s when we were banned from Europe.

Player wage inflation came primarily from the big overseas clubs and our current system is theoretically so bad because of low tax rates enjoyed by footballers in places like spain which means our clubs have to pay high gross wages to meet the net demands of agents.

The England national side is a whole different reason. Primarily an attitude problem which stems from the media. Our players are built up and believe it yet they fail to realise that the sole reason the national press build them up is so they can knock them back down again. Blaming overseas players for the state of the national squad is ignorant. Take spain as a prime example of the cream can rise to the top, La Liga has always attracted top overseas talent yet Spain are World and European champions.”

game time....... if he continues to learn he'll be an asset to any side”

“Isn't Persons son still with us...? Has anyone seen him play? Surely we should have heard more about him if he is making the grade... I wonder if Wes's comment about graceing any premier team is a tongue in cheek way of saying he could stay with us if we go up...? There are rumours abound about the Shlupp deal on the net...”

“I dont believe what i read in the newspapers, or what i hear from fickle fans. I go by what i see on the pitch. Wayne Brown was exemplary on the pitch - there was no quotes from Pearson or Brown confirming the rumours that were doing the rounds.

Also, i am from what would be described as an "ethnic minority" yet i am proud of my stance that my club should be self sufficient and having foreign owners in charge is detrimental to this as in city's case they have borrowed millions against the club - debt has risen £40m in one year. As we have seen with Portsmouth, these owners can just disappear without a care in the world and all the fans and local businesses owed money have to pick up the pieces. Its disgraceful and football finances need to be regulated and monitored. All foreign ownership has brought to England is a players arms race, increased wages for mediocre players and discrimination against local players who are always shunned to one side in favour of exotic, overseas counterparts who in many cases are no better. The england national team has suffered as a result.”
