Sleet and snow is forecast for Leicestershire later today.

The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for snow which will spread eastwards across the East Midlands this afternoon.

Up to 2 to 4 cm of snow could settle in some places temporarily during the afternoon.

The snow will turn to rain from the west during the afternoon and evening.
