How refreshing to read the letter from Wendy Warren (Mailbox, April 3) extolling the rights of people to choose for themselves whether they eat meat or not.

My experience with vegetarians either in the flesh or in print is that they are so smug and self-righteous in their attitude to us meat-eaters.

I once read an article on vegetarians which said, and I quote: "Vegetarians are the result of a well-fed society."

Eat meat, or not, it is still a free choice.
