Mark Selby feels right at home at Wembley – and he believes that could help propel him to a second Masters title.

A stunning first-round win against Ding Junhui on Sunday booked Selby's place in tonight's quarter-final against Irishman Mark Allen (7.0).

The "Jester from Leicester" beat Chinese star Ding 6-1 in what Selby described as "the best match I've played this season", and he is putting that victory down to how comfortable he feels at Wembley.

After winning the Masters title on his debut in 2008 and then losing a thrilling final 10-8 to Ronnie O'Sullivan last year, Selby has no doubts it is a venue that brings out the best in him.

"I haven't been getting the results this season and to come out and perform as well as I did against Ding was fantastic," said the world No.7. "It must be something to do with playing at Wembley, I feel right at home there. It was the best match I've played this season.

"I feel really comfortable out there, I love the one-table situation because it makes it feel like you're playing a semi-final or final. It suits my game, and my record there over the past three years speaks for itself.

"I started well against Ding and that was the key because it's quite often my downfall. But I quickly stamped my authority on the match, I didn't miss much and I shut him out.

"I was the underdog because he had just won the UK Championship, but my confidence has been returning and it was a great scalp for me.

"It's put me on a high and I will take that into my match against Allen, I don't fear anyone and I'm playing well enough to win the title again."

Allen, who beat world champion John Higgins 6-3 in the first round, will be a tough competitor, as they all are at Wembley where the world's top 16 players battle it out for snooker's biggest invitation title.

But Selby won 6-5 against the world No.11 at the same stage last year and, having shrugged off the effects of a flu virus, he believes he is in shape to repeat that performance tonight.

He said: "It's not an easy match, but none of them are, they're all solid players. Mark can blow hot and cold but he can't be under-estimated. He ran me close last year but I managed to edge it in the final frame.

"I've had a few days at home in the warm so I should be fully recovered from the virus.

"I'm looking forward to tonight's match. I may need to score a bit bigger than against Ding but, as long as I take my chances, you don't need to knock in high breaks all the time to win tournaments."
