Sophie's poster wins festival competition
Egleton: The creative talents of Egleton's children were to the fore over the Easter Holiday as entries flooded in for the Design a Poster competition.
It was open to all children and grandchildren of residents of the Rutland village.
The challenge was to design a poster for the village's forthcoming flower festival, to be held at St.Edmund's Church, on Friday-Sunday, July 3-5.
Competition organisers Tony and Annie Hill were delighted with the number, quality and creativity of the entries.
"The competition certainly attracted the interest of the children in the village and we were all delighted that so many took the time and trouble to work so hard on their posters," said Mr Hill. "The creativity was absolutely first class."
The judging panel had a difficult task in selecting the winner, but after much deliberation the winning entry was a poster designed by Sophie Wass (Aged 7)
