City mayor Sir Peter Soulsby reshuffles Leicester's assistant mayors
Sir Peter Soulsby has announced a reshuffle of his assistant mayors at Leicester City Council.
Deputy city mayor Councillor Rory Palmer will take responsibility for all of the council's new public health responsibilities and will continue to lead on climate change.
Sir Peter will take over responsibility for transport from his deputy. The mayor said Councillor Manjula Sood will take on an enhanced role in relation to community involvement.
Councillor Mohammed Dawood will continue to lead on housing, but his adult social care role will pass to a new assistant mayor, Councillor Rita Patel.

The roles of Councillors Vi Dempster, assistant mayor for children, young people and schools, Sarah Russell, who leads on neighbourhood services, and Piara Clair, who is responsible for sport and leisure, will not change.
