CHARNWOOD ORCHESTRA: The annual spring concert will feature three works – all with a touch of romance about them.

Bruch's ever popular Violin Concerto No 1 will feature soloist Iona Brown, principle first violin with the Northern Sinfonia. Weber's Euryanthe Overture is from his epic but little staged romantic opera.

Meanwhile, Symphony No 4 from Schumann is considered to have paved the way for the great late romantic symphonies of Brahms and Dvorak.

The concert takes place on March 23 at All Saints Parish Church, Sparrow Hill, Loughborough, starting at 7.30pm.
