A cultural festival in its 11th year is starting in the city next week.

De Montfort University's Cultural Exchanges festival runs from Monday to Friday, with about 3,500 people expected to attend around 40 events throughout the week.

Waterloo Road actress Heather Peace and Adrian Lester, start of the BBC TV show Hustle, are among the famous names taking part in the festival.

Festival director Tony Graves said: "We are so grateful that stars such as these take time out to take part in events such as these.

"It is an honour, not just for the university but for the students involved in organising the event."
