Steam toys a big hit at Abbey Pumping Station
HUNDREDS of people flocked to Abbey Pumping Station today (February 3), to marvel at the 100s of steam toys, engines and boats on display.
The event, now in its 23rd year, is believed to be Europe's largest gathering of steam toys and engines.
Also on display were vintage vehicles as well as a vintage fish and chip van from the 1930s, which even sold chips cooked on a coal fuelled oven.
Visitors enjoyed rides around the site on Lenny the Loco.

And around 50 collectors had their steam toys working and on display alongside a huge collectors fair, where people could buy new and antique engines,
spare parts and accessories.
The event was organised by the Leicester Museums Technology Association, the support group for Abbey Pumping Station, with the backing of Leicester
City Council and the museum's permanent staff.
