Stolen car holds key to tracking down burglars
Police are hoping a stolen car will help them track down thieves who carried out a burglary.
The incident happened some time between 4pm on Saturday, February 4, and 3.30pm the following day in Loughborough Road, in Birstall.
A window at the back of the house was forced open and a television, laptop and gold brooch, which had a heart centrepiece, were stolen. Also taken was a grey Volkswagen Golf, registration number NG58 NYV.
Police are appealing to members of the public to help them find the missing car.
Detective Constable Glen Reid, who is investigating, said: "Although none of the stolen items have been recovered since the burglary, we believe that locating the car is imperative to this investigation and I would urge anyone with information to call us.
"Perhaps you have been offered the car to buy? Maybe you know someone who has recently acquired it, or you have seen it parked in the area you live?
"If so, please call us and help us with our inquiries.
"I would like to talk to anyone who knows anything about the burglary or the people responsible."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det Con Reid on 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
