"So I can't afford to wear them because it gets too expensive, but I really do like them."

So, sniff, the winklepickers are simply to be revered on the altar of look-but-don't-touch fashion.

Today, Tiernan's opting for comfort all the way.

Although, the way in which he acquired his shoes is unusual, to say the least.

My Style is hoping the original owners aren't reading this.

"I found these shoes in my house after a party," he says. "Some guy stayed and just left his shoes. I don't know what he went home in."

So, Tiernan's not afraid of a bit of style recycling.

"I shop on eBay and in Topshop and a lot in charity shops," he says. "I wouldn't say there's one almighty style deity that I worship but I suppose I'm influenced by music.

"I dress the same for work as I do for the day as I do for going out – I tend to have one style fits all."

Today is a cold, thick-shirt day, he tells us. The outfit is blinged up with a cool Urban Outfitters watch.

"I think little pieces can make a look."

Said like a true fashionista.

"Well, I wouldn't say it's a way of life for me," he says.

"Unless you work in the industry it's a bit conceited to get too into it but I think it's important to take pride in your appearance."
