Sunderland rule out Leicester City return for Martyn Waghorn
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce looks to have finally ruled out any chance of striker Martyn Waghorn returning to Leicester City on loan.
The Black Cats striker had an outstanding spell with City last term with 12 goals in 27 league starts, which led to him picking up the club's Young Player of the Year award.

He had to be helped off the field in tears after missing a spot-kick in the heartbreaking play-off semi-final defeat to Cardiff.
Waghorn returned to Premier League club Sunderland in the summer.
He scored twice in their friendly against Munster and played 90 minutes in last weekend's 4-2 win over Hull City.
Hull, now managed by Nigel Pearson, Waghorn's boss at Leicester, had high hopes that they could lure the 20-year-old to the KC Stadium.
However, Bruce said: "I have said that his future is with us this year and nothing has changed.
"I wouldn't have thought I would be loaning him out this season."
Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing also had a successful spell at City on loan last season, scoring once in six starts.
Spearing believes he is a better player for his time at the Walkers Stadium.
"It was a massive disappointment for the club not to reach the play-off final," he told liverpoolfc.tv.
"But it has made me a bit of a better player to go out and see what you should be fighting for every week."

“Ha ha I am not playing your dumb stupid games Fred.
Gally is a great young player just the type PS can teach his style of footy to.
Glad Browns gone as you can't teach an old dog new tricks.”

“I hope Waghorn does well, I do think he would be an asset to the team in any light, he is young and I think he could probably adapt to a new system in no time. Maybe when it comes to contract renewal time he may remember us.
Fred - shut up!
Why would I pretend to be a Submariner, to you it may be far fetched as a benefit scrounger, but it's not that big a deal, it's just a job. And the Dog food Jibes would be funny, but as I am from Melton and my Dad made his money Making a Certain brand of Dog food.. (amongst others), now owned by Masterfoods, it really doesn't bother me.
You need to start registering email addresses for all your aliases Fred, when the LM introduce the new system your "Friends" will need their own.”

“James I should think Waghorn was glad to get away from the Walkers.
The booing got a bit repetitive last season.
Fickle fans James?”

Tomorrow Fred acuses Chappy of being a red- chappy denies thaty terrible accusation by claiming'rather be dead than red' ( as we all would- apart from Fred)”

“Well it doesn't look like Pearson is going to get Gallagher.
Steve Bruce will probably give his opportunity he deserves and play him in the fist team on a regular basis. Didn't take Fred the Nottingham supporter long to wreck yet another sensible thread by us real Leicester fans.
On your bike sunshine you have no place on this forum.”

“The first 2 posts from Fred this morning and barely a mention of the article. Stick to the script old bean, I think you're becoming too obsessed with other posters.
I hope Waghorn goes on to have a fantastic career, he gave his all for us last year and it was such a shame that ihis time here ended the way it did. I'm sure he will always think well of Leicester City and us fans. Hope he plays at the weekend, would be good to give him a proper, warm send off.
Does he fit in Sousa's style? Maybe not, so a return here would probably ruin the reputation he built up last season. Hope he gets his chances in the premier league this season, the lad should have a bright future ahead of him”
