Suspended prison term for burglary
A burglar who stole property, including a computer and a flat screen TV, from a house has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Gareth Bush, 44, admitted breaking into the premises in Latimer Street, Belgrave, in December 2008.
Jonathan Cox, prosecuting, said the occupants returned from a Christmas break to find their front door unlocked.
A computer, computer screen, a television, an iPod and a digital camera, worth a total of £690 were missing.
The computer had £1,580 worth of software installed in it, Leicester Crown Court was told.
Bush left a bloodstain and was arrested after a DNA match.
John Hallissey, in mitigation, urged the court not to jail his client because of Bush's "fragile mental health." He had not offended since 2000.
Bush, of Norfolk Street, West End, Leicester, was given a 12-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, with an 18-month supervision requirement.
